Pavel Kuna is a music and festival photographer based in Bratislava, Slovakia. He discovered his passion for photography at a young age and began taking pictures when he was only 13 years old. Pavel started by capturing urban architecture and nature, and then moved on to portrait photography. However, his true calling was found in music photography.
While attending high school, Pavel interviewed DJs for a student magazine, which enabled him to meet people in the EDM industry and begin working as a music photographer. Over the years, Pavel has photographed more than fifty festivals and countless performances for major EDM festivals and DJs, including D.O.D, DJ Antoine, Matoma, Ferry Corsten, Deniz Koyu, Vini Vici, and many more at some of the world's biggest stages like Tomorrowland, Ultra Europe, Electric Love Festival, World Club Dome, Creamfields and Balaton Sound.
Pavel's hard work and talent have not gone unnoticed. In 2016, he was named the eighth best music festival photographer by EDM Sauce magazine. The following year, he won third place in the Best Music Photographer of the year category at the Dance Music Awards.
In 2019, Pavel hosted his first photo exhibition, entitled "be yourself be unique," in Slovakia's capital city, Bratislava. He held another edition of the exhibition in 2020 in his hometown Nitra. During the same year, he started his own company, KUNA PRODUCTION, and launched a new career in marketing and management.
In 2021, after completing his Bachelor's degree, Pavel began working at Tomorrowland in the media and marketing department. He helped with editorial and content for all the ongoing projects, including One World Radio, DJ store, MESA, TML by Tomorrowland, Tomorrowland Winter, and more.
Pavel's personal motto, "Be yourself, be unique," has guided him throughout his career and never failed him. His passion, talent, and hard work have made him a respected and accomplished music photographer in the industry.
His photos are unstylized, capturing the authentic atmosphere and unique, precious moments. They exude the energy of people having spontaneous fun. "My main goal is for people who see my photographs to have the desire to experience the atmosphere themselves," says the author of his work.
